"The End." Lessons in leadership from the financial crises

Portfolio has an excellent article about the depths of the financial/mortgage crises: http://adjix.com/xt4q (via GuyKawaski) Three things I take from this: 1. always distrust anyone who claims to be an "expert" 2. trust your instinct on what is untruths in the market, and 3. put your money where your instincts are, not where the heard is. Yes, rather self explanatory I suppose, but this article really makes you question anything considered "common wisdom".

Auto Industry Thoughts

The failure of the auto industry would obviously be bad for the US--I was thinking after walking home from dinner and a Hummer rode past us in upstate New York--but on some level shouldn't innovation eb rewarded? And pure "stupidity"--the hummer pulls away--should get what it deserves? Cam into our house and then read this: http://tinyurl.com/6p7wzj. Good overview and discussion of the situation. I would add, that the fall of one of the auto giants might lead to green innovation hitting the market quicker.
